No this is not an indication of musical taste within the charity but excitement that Bolton couple, Matthew and Becky Nolan, will be running the 2024 Greater Manchester Half-marathon for NWBB. Our Central Area events and fundraising champion Becky Pow will be keeping us up to date with the progress on both fitness and fundraising. Recently they dropped in to be photographed with one of our liveried bikes.

Booking of collections is now closed
For the past 12 years St John’s Hospice have collected Christmas trees in the local areas in return for a donation.
“The whole event is quite good fun as we have many volunteers who go out in all weathers across our areas (From Garstang to Grasmere, Milnthorpe to Settle) they love the great Christmas Tree hunt.”
Every year they give some of the proceeds to other charities. This year they have chosen 5 local charities to also benefit from this and once again North West Blood Bikes is one of them. We are delighted to have been selected by St John’s Hospice and hope that many of our followers and supporters will help them support us and the other worthy causes.

Both the stores of Sainsbury’s at Bamber Bridge and Morecambe have been collecting for us over the past 12 months and it is coming to a close. The staff at both stores have been great, but we mustn’t forget the customers who have helped us by donating. Along with some new faces, we had the pleasure of the lovely Gary Warn who is once again an active member in North West Blood Bikes proving that once you join this amazing group there is just no escape!

ASDA have yet again done us proud with their support of North West Blood Bikes. We have been very fortunate over the last few months in many stores across the region being chosen by customers to win the green token scheme. Chorley ASDA store is no exception to this and on Saturday 14th April we were privileged to be presented with a cheque for £500.

For the second year in a row this event has been an incredibly wet one but we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits.
We had the lovely Marion to attract people over and have a chance to sit on a liveried blood bike. (thanks Simon for entrusting her to us), a large selection of merchandise and of course as has become a tradition a selection of cakes to raise money through donations. We had lots of enquiries and hopefully these will result in new members of the charity plus a few future events.

Becky Newton, Events and Talks Coordinator for our Central area writes:
What a start to Central area’s events for 2018! We were contacted only a week before the grand opening of Ghost Bikes’ new premises in Preston and at short notice it was a big ask to pull it all together, but we did it with a brilliant turn out of members from all areas including those from another Blood Bike Group! Not seen so many people in Hi Viz or so many liveried bikes in a long while
