NWBBLL collects private information from volunteers. This information is provided directly by the volunteer. We do not collect information from other sources or third parties.
When you apply to be a volunteer for the charity NWBBLL will collect the following information:
The law requires us to set out the lawful grounds on which we collect and process your personal information as described in this notice.
NWBBLL collects and processes the personal information of volunteers for the purposes of the legitimate interests of the charity. Legitimate interests is one of the six lawful bases for processing personal data.
For each category of data processed we will have a policy that specifies the maximum retention time for that particular data category.
NWBBLL operates a volunteer courier service in support of the NHS. All deliveries are recorded on a rota for operational reasons including review and improvement to services. This information is also to provide traceability in the event of any query from the NHS.
For purposes of rider safety and public protection our liveried vehicles are fitted with trackers which record location, time, and speed of the vehicle. This data is monitored for compliance with speed limits and may form the bases for individual retraining or corrective counselling in accordance with our disciplinary policies.
By its nature it is possible this data could be requested by police or other authority in the course of an investigation and may be disclosed to them if lawful to do so.
You have the right to be told how your personal information will be used. This privacy notice and other policies and statements used on this website and in our communications are intended to provide you with a clear and transparent description of how your personal information may be used.
You can write to us to ask for confirmation of what information we hold on you and to request a copy of that information (and other related information). Provided we are satisfied that you are entitled to see the information requested and we have successfully confirmed your identity, we will provide you with your personal information subject to any exceptions that apply.

At your request we will delete your personal information from our records as far as we don’t have an overriding legitimate reason for holding on to it (e.g., to comply with a legal obligation).
If you believe our records of your personal information are inaccurate, you have the right to ask us to update those records. You can also ask us to check the personal information that we hold about you if you are unsure whether it is up to date or not.
You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information if there is disagreement about its accuracy or whether our use is legitimate or not.
Where we take automated decisions in relation to your personal information with no human involvement.
You have the right to object to processing where we are: processing your personal information on the bases of the legitimate interests’ ground (see ‘Our lawful basis for processing your personal data’ above) and we have no compelling reason we can demonstrate to continue with that processing.

In some circumstances, such as under a court order, we are legally obliged to share information.
