In response to an appeal by local charity ‘North West Blood Bikes’(NWBB) for help in replacing their ageing fleet of motorbikes, Freemasons from West Lancashire were swift to respond. Their own, local West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity (WLFC) were delighted to be able to present two, brand new BMW R1200RT-P motorbikes, complete with all the necessary additional equipment, to enable this voluntary emergency organisation to continue supporting our local hospitals and NHS.

North West Blood Bikes is one of the largest volunteer-run Emergency transportation groups with over 350 volunteers and up to 21 liveried bikes available for out-of-hours calls. They distribute items between 16 hospitals across five trusts including whole blood, donor breast milk and patient notes relieving pressure on NHS funds.

On Sunday 25th January 2015 we held a General Meeting at an ultra modern new venue in Leyland and over 60 members turned out for it, most on bikes. This gave us the opportunity to show that our riders can use their own bikes.

NWBB Lancs and Lakes have just bought their new Triumph Trophy, from Youles motorcycles of Blackburn. Beautiful bike and hopefully will last us for years helping us to help the hospitals.

Commissioner donates Blood Bike to charity
A former police motorbike is set to take on a life-saving role thanks to Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner. Clive Grunshaw has donated the bike to the North West Blood Bikes Lancs and Lakes (NWBB L&L), meaning it will now be used by volunteers delivering vital blood supplies to hospitals across the region.

The Manager at the Maghul Ambulance station has agreed to let us store the Western Area bike there. The Honda Deauville will have a great place to call home from the weekend beginning the 8th December.
