60,000 and counting

At 22:00 hrs on Tuesday 12th February 2019, exactly 6 years 10 months and 10 days, since we started operating we have reached 60,000 call-outs from our local NHS Hospitals.

An incredible figure when you consider that in the first 12 months we were only called out 812 times, now we are being called out at an average of 1,200 times per month.

Our success is due to a group of fantastic people, Controllers, Riders, Fundraisers and Members who spread the word , by actions or talks to groups. All our members are so dedicated that they help for free, no-one gets paid, and all in the pursuit of helping our fellow man or woman who are hospitalised.

But it’s also down to wonderful groups like the Freemasons, Rotary, Round Table, Mothers Union, The Women’s Institute, Local businesses, other charities and many more, including individuals running marathons and school children choosing us as their charity of the year.

I have been the Chairman since day one, and am humbled by the goodness of my people.
