The funeral of our dear lost friend and colleague Russell Curwen will take place on Friday 18th May 2018. The church service will be held at Kendal Parish Church at 12:15pm (Kirkland, Kendal. LA9 5AF) and at Beetham Crematorium at 2pm (Beetham, Milnthorpe LA7 7BQ) If you are attending and wish to travel by car there is a public car park, named Peppercorn, just past the church on the right-hand side, but please be aware there will be a mini-bus with NWBBLL members on board and several Blood Bike Cars needing to park on there. If you can park elsewhere it would be appreciated.
If you are travelling by any motorcycle, blood bike, private, or Blood Bike Car, please assemble initially at our gathering point between 9am - 11am at the Rural Auction Centre, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria LA7 7FP, which is just off the M6 at junction 36.
We will be providing an escort for the cortege and the details are below:
- 11:00 Rolling Marshalls set off to take up posts
- 11:05 Rider Briefing
- 11:15 Approximately, the Convoy will leave in the following order:
- NWBB Lancs & Lakes Members
- NABB and other Blood Bike representatives
- Everyone else
Blood Bike Cars should make their way from the “Gathering Point” directly to Peppercorn car park due to the restricted roads approaching the church. Only motorcycles will be in the cortege escort with the exception of a “Tail End Charlie”. The motorcycle convoy will travel along the A65 to the village of End Moor, where it will hold for the Hearse family cars etc., to exit from Gatebeck Lane.
Once on the move, the cortege will then resume, pausing for one minute outside Westmorland General Hospital so that the staff can pay their respects.
The cortege will then continue along the A65 onto Romney Rd, turning right at the Traffic lights onto the A6 continuing to the Church on the right.
The Local council have kindly given permission for us to cone off the offside/righthand lane of the one-way street for bike parking during the service. (Pelican Crossing by Ford Court through to entrance of Peppercorn Car Park)
Thank you all in advance.
