To date we have done 380 runs between hospitals, saving our local hospitals somewhere in the region of £20,000 and this is our first year, not only that we are only 9 months into it. The rate of runs is increasing month on month. What of the snow?

To date NWBB Lancs & Lakes has managed to complete 368 runs for our local hospitals since we started in May 2012. We have actually had 371 calls, but we couldn't do 3 of the runs for one reason or another and of course 2 of our runs were blue light

We do regular runs for Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals every night, but have had few ad hoc runs, that is until Saturday 5th January 2013, when it suddenly got all our duty riders out and our Controller interrupted whilst interior decorating.

At 16:00 hrs on Christmas Eve, our Chairman (Paul) got a call to go to the Countess of Chester Hospital to pick up two litres of donor breast milk for a poorly baby at Ormskirk Hospital.

Carl Farber (events manager), did a marvelous last minute job organising a Christmas do at the Hartwood Hall pub on Saturday 22nd. Great to meet some old and new faces and being an old sod, an ABBA tribute night was great.

Like Santa, we deliver presents at Christmas, the big difference is ours are very often Life Saving presents, be it Blood or Donor Breast Milk for very poorly, Premature Babies. We are a charity helping the hospitals transport urgent items

Wednesday 19th December 2012, Lee Townsend received a call at 18:17hrs from Preston asking if we could take an item to Chorley and described it as "Very Urgent". Lee was the Controller from the previous night and because it was before 19:00hrs the call went to him.
