Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will continue to support the work we do.
We aim to provide a totally free, but professional, voluntary service, out of normal working hours for the transportation of Urgent and Emergency items, e.g. blood, platelets, samples, donor breast milk, patient notes, theatre equipment, in fact anything that can be carried by motorcycle, solely for the benefit of the publicly funded emergency services and the patients being treated by them, within the NHS Hospitals.
We will provide this service through the night, and 24 hours per day at weekends and Bank Holidays, to the best of our ability, enabling hospital funding to be better spent on patient care.
We started operating in May 2012 and as the counter shows the number of call outs we are completing is growing exponentially. Your help in doing this is always appreciated. Please Donate Here.
Way back in the 80’s Pete Marquis started a small skip hire company and from the The activities projects and vehicles of Pete Marquis group of companies are familiar throughout the region including Civil Engineering, Demolition Plant Hire and Waste Management services.
Although Pete’s business sector is tough, practical and very down-to-earth, he has a heart of gold and continually raises large amounts of money for charitable causes. Every year he hosts a clay pigeon shoot at Blackpool gun club at Greenhalgh in aid of North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes. NWBB are invited to take the Gazebo and liveried bikes to join in with the activities including a mobile bar, (lemonade for the riders!) barbecue and music. This year we even helped out manning the clay traps and scoring the shooters. Each year all the proceeds from the event are in the thousands of pounds. We also know that further amounts Pete receives unexpectedly from his other activities are also donated in supporting NWBB. All without great fuss. But this month we celebrate and thank Pete Marquis

Both the stores of Sainsbury’s at Bamber Bridge and Morecambe have been collecting for us over the past 12 months and it is coming to a close. The staff at both stores have been great, but we mustn’t forget the customers who have helped us by donating. All the money collected helps us keep our fleet of emergency bikes on the road and our volunteers in fuel.read full story

You can always read our Newsletters here to see what we are doing and who is supporting us. If you think you can help, come and join us. You don’t have to be able to ride a bike, although we constantly need riders, you can join us as a Controller, which basically means you stay at home and receive re-directed calls from any of our Hospitals. Then it’s a case of looking on the Duty sheets and sending a rider to do the run, or you can join us as a Fundraiser.
Whichever way you can help we will welcome you on board what we think is the best Blood Bike group in the Country. Just click the “Volunteer” button below."Volunteer.
