Spanset UK are part of an international company providing an innovative range of products and services in the fields of height safety, lifting, load control and height safety management, backed up by technical support and expertise drawing on a wealth of experience from around the globe.
Some years ago NWBB decide to issue all riders with a dedicated set of load straps made and certified to internationally recognised standards of quality and safety. Spanset UK were the chosen vendor at the time.
Early in 2024 it was time to replenish stocks. The team at Spanset UK checked our detaild requirements. As a result, they were so impressed with what they learned of our mission to support the NHS with a free volunteer transport service the decision was made to provide our straps free of charge. On behalf of the Company Justin Evans and Lisa Cagna even delivered the straps in person giving them to meet the Committee and our bikes in person and get up close and personal with our liveried bikes.

West Lancashire mororcycle club famous for organising the Plop Enduro racing series based on the Honda Cub Technology Platform
Scarisbrick & District Armada Motorcycle club have been wonderful supporters of charities including North West Blood Bikes over the years. Their famous Plop Enduro race series is legendary for the excitement and spectacle as very simple machines are cooked to the abolute limit and pushed well beyond what the designers in Japan could have imagined in their wildest manga dreams.
Out of the success of the Plop Enduro series the club distributes funds to worthy causes and in 2018 they donated a “authorities specification” BMW RT1200 liveried bike to North West Blood Bikes Lancs and Lakes. The bike has of course been based in our Southport, Ormskirk, Whiston area which includes Scarisbrick and has clocked up 57,000 miles on the mission to carry blood, samples and any other medical items out of hours for the NHS. West Area riders quickly christened the bike “Plop” in recognition of the race series.
Fast forward through the Coronavirus pandemic and our good friends at Scarisbrick have repeated the honour and will be presenting another brand new BMW RT1250 to North West Blood Bikes to work alongside the existing machine. The handover ceremony took place at the Heatons Bridge Inn Scarisbrick at 12.00 on Saturday 16th October.
The Eric Wright Group has set up a continuous annual donation to us and has given us furniture for our Headquarters. A number of transformations since then has resulted in the present structure. 100% of the shareholding in the Eric Wright Group is owned by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust, a charitable body that was established on principles of sustained employment and community regeneration.
