  • Controllers. Who are they?

    One of the many volunteer roles within North West Blood Bikes is that of controller. Also known as call takers, dispatchers or coordinators, the role of controller is essential for ensuring calls are answered quickly and the item is delivered efficiently to its destination. There is much more for the 46 members to do than just answering the phone.

    Preparations underway for opening of new home

    North West Blood Bikes – Lancs & Lakes are preparing to open their new headquarters, and have an unusual union along the way.

    The group of volunteers who provide free transportation of urgent and emergency items between hospitals on behalf of the local NHS trusts in the North West took the keys from South Ribble Council for their new unit 5 Momentum Place, South Rings, Bamber Bridge in June this year.

    Vintage Tea Party is a great success

    Becky Newton, organiser of the Vintage Tea Party writes: As you know I had a dream of bringing people together to enjoy tea and cake and we certainly did that. The community centre was dressed up in bunting, balloons, jam jars filled with flowers and delicate China crockery galore. It really did look pretty and within 20 mins of the event starting we had a person in every seat and the place was buzzing.
